Abstract:
The Guide to the Project Management Body of Knowledge (PMBOK® Guide) provides the PMI’s standard processes for managing project risks. Have you wondered how practical these processes are in real life? The speaker will provide a real-life example of a risk management program she implemented at a major pharmaceutical company for a global Research and Development wide initiative. She will compare this real-life example with the PMBOK standard process.

Antonia Valakas, M.S., C.C.R.A., D.T.M. is a senior pharmaceutical professional with a consistent record of delivering operational excellence internationally (i.e., streamlined, fit-for-purpose solutions to improve Research and Development return on investment), resulting in 12 company excellent awards.
Antonia-also known as Toni- is a lean sigma green belt with expertise in risk management, leadership, coaching, change and project management, scientific/medical/procedural writing, and global clinical development.
Toni has a Master of Science Degree in Pharmacy Management from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, is a Certified Clinical Research Associate, and a Distinguished Toastmaster.
Currently, Toni is a Principal Specialist, Medical Writing Standards and Processes at EMD Serono, Inc. where she is applying her extensive experience to deliver innovative, global medical writing standards and processes.
